Ol Chiki goes public

A recent visit to Jharkhand amazed me when I saw "Ol chiki" written on the sign boards of villages outside Jamshedpur. Looking at the layout and position of Ol Chiki, I have a bit of doubt whether it was officially written or some Santhali activists wrote it. Either way it's a great beginning for people outside the tribal community to see the script in public places.

History of Visual Communication

Minor project on visual communication at National Institute of design in 2009. This project aims to study the history of Visual Communication in the Western context and present it in the form of a narrative. I will be looking at visual representation and style in the two-dimensional medium and how it has changed over the centuries. The timeline based narrative will be presented through a piece of motion graphics. Key pieces of art and design will be picked up to represent a certain art style/movement to help the viewer understand the change over the centuries.
